"When I Remember Love," begins with Aidan Price, one of the most sought-after singers in America, completing a European concert tour. He is just dozing off in the backseat of a limo when he opens his eyes in horror, his life passing before him, as an out-of-control truck plows into them. Will Aidan and his career survive? Will his memories? Who will he remember when he remembers love?

The book recounts the life and love of new singing sensation Aidan Price and his beautiful, uninhibited wife, Jenna, whom he weds shortly before winning the "American Star," competition on national TV. In the six years that follow, the couple's love is tested in ways they never could have imagined, from a life threatening illness to a horrific car accident. The story opens with a flash-forward to the limo accident. Aidan has just spoken by cell phone to Jenna from London and is excited about returning home to her and their small children after his international concert tour. In the last chapter, Aidan’s near-fatal accident leaves him suffering from a post-traumatic brain injury. Upon awakening from a coma, short-term amnesia robs him of his most precious memories, those of Jenna and his children, as well as his rise to superstardom. The ultimate test of love, his journey back with Jenna by his side is heartbreaking, compelling and triumphant. Fans of hit shows like "American Idol," will cheer for the star of this erotic romance while they visualize him performing his original songs in concert as described in print. During the course of this book readers are treated to front-row seats at a sell-out pop star concert, invited backstage to witness intimate moments, and offered a voyeuristic glimpse of how these lovers erotically express their insatiable passion for each other. Aidan and Jenna learn that fame and fortune come at a high price and can be lost in a heartbeat, while what they value most costs them nothing but requires all they can give. In the midst of the challenges fate hands them, their enduring love will be the key to unlocking priceless memories.

... BUT this book is pretty bad. While I commend Ms. Silver's effort at writing a GOOD romance, I could not get past Chapter Eight before I tossed it aside.

First, the writing itself ~
Sure, the author knows her basic grammar and syntax, but most of the descriptive words were exceedingly elementary. Silver was overly generous in statements like "perfect body," and "absolutely gorgeous." I found these statements mundane and borderline ridiculous. Also ~ I am in total agreement with one reviewer about the amount of sex in this book. While not a prude, if I wanted to read a story entirely centered on sex, I'd grab a copy of Penthouse Forum (not really but you get the gist). I felt like I was trying to read a dirty book written for teenagers.

Second, character development ~
Ms. Silver had a good plot idea, but totally dropped the ball with the development of her characters.
I prefer (and expect) more than a few, simplistic sentences when I am learning about a character, their families, their joys and their pains. Actual depth would have made this story interesting. Depth would have had me cheering for the characters! Instead I was flipping back and forth, wondering if I missed something.
And when Jenna and Aidan first met? COME ON! I find it very hard to believe that they would just sit and stare at each other while holding hands wearing "goofy expressions," AND engage in a sex scene almost immediately afterwards. Jenna was supposed to be a good girl. Wasn't she? And speaking of the first sex scene - has any woman actually had a lover who SCREAMED their name "over and over" after (excuse me folks) a first-time hand-job? At the risk of being repetitive - COME ON!

In fairness, I think that this book COULD have been good, but this read like a first draft. In Steven King's book "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft," he warns budding authors on the overuse of adverbs ending in -ly. I agree that such overuse implies writing laziness. Take "sensuously" and "flirtatiously" for example. I am heartily sick of both words. Both are tossed about by many new romance authors, not just by Ms. Silver. Find different words PLEASE! A thesaurus is your friend! Mr. King also recommends having a first reader who will tell you the honest truth, and warns the new author that re-writes are just part of the job of writing an engrossing book. Good writing is hard work!

I could not finish this book, and removed it from my Kindle home page - an absolute first for this lover of books.

It could have been SO MUCH BETTER. I think she can do better, and I hope she will, as she develops her craft. If she wants to write a really good, yet scintillating book, I recommend she read Linda Howard, or Nora Roberts, and then read them again, and again, and again ...

When I Remember Love edition by Trish Silver Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I URGE you, before you spend ANY money on this book, send a sample to yourself and read it. Just from the sample you'll see just how awful this book is. This book is beyond bad. I know I can be picky about books but this book the simple TRUTH of the matter is that it's just shockingly bad.

The writing is atrocious. The grammar is shaking but the basic writing skills an author should have are non-existent. It's dreadfully cheesy and both horrible and hilarious at the same time.

I found myself laughing at the punctuation. Just exclamation points galore. On the beach "Do you want me to stop?" "No." "Good because I can't!" Now why would that warrant an exclamation point? It's suppose to be a sensual moment not a gleeful one.

This reads like a 12 year old's first fan fiction story about a singer meeting a normal girl. Singer is gorgeous and the girl is a 'natural beauty' because everyone tells her so. She sees her aunt, 'Oh my gosh sweetie, you have grown into such a natural beauty' 'Jenna, it's been so long. Look at you, you are such a natural beauty'

Don't do it. Walk away, walk away, WALK AWAY. But not before you read the sample for the laughs because you have to see for yourself how bad it is. I'm glad I got the sample first. If you check out the reviews, the majority are from people who have just reviewed this book and or one or two more and from people in California, Colorado or New Mexico. Friends of Ms. Silver? I wouldn't be surprised.

This is not a 1 star book. It's 0 stars.
"When I Remember Love" was an incredible novel . . . romantic and suspenseful. The characters literally jumped off the pages . . . as they were so very well developed and real. While reading I felt that the characters were my good friends, as they were so realistic. I am very hopeful that this book will be made into a movie that I can see at the theater, and later purchase one for my home. I strongly urge the committee to make this well-written book into a movie.
I Remember Love is a great read. I do not usually read romantic novels, but I am glad I read this one. You will love the two key characters. I know you will enjoy this book.
It was an interesting read. I am personally aquatinted with the author. It was an pleasant take on TRUE LOVE.
When I Remember Love will transport you back to the days when deep loving and commitment truly meant something. The author, Trish Silver, will pull you in and make you a part of the lives of Aidan and Jenna as they cope with the pressures of a contemporary relationship colored by the highs and lows of fame and the joys and sorrows of everyday life. This book is for everyone who needs to have their faith in love restored....and the author accomplishes this on a grand scale!!
