I really enjoyed this memoir and liked it much better than Angela’s Ashes. I found myself anxious to find out what the next adventure would be. The author’s treatment of delicate issues was sensitive and insightful. Here is a real-live story of a child rising above a difficult childhood to become a well respective scientific expert. My copy is now at a friend's house.
This incredible memoir that made me laugh out loud and touched my heart as I read the poignant stories of a boy growing up in Detroit with an alcoholic father and a mentally disturbed mother. The horrific events that pepper the book are tempered by the young man's antics in his Catholic school classroom, his scientific inquisitiveness and his love of music. Snake Music wraps your heart and squeezes and doesn't let go until the end of the book.
Great read. Have not finished yet, but cannot wait to do.It is really a walk down memory lane for those 60 and over! It is fun & funny!
